Hayton Lakes Fishery near Retford offers fantastic fishing for pleasure anglers, match anglers and specimen carp anglers. Stretching across approximately 100 acres of the Nottinghamshire countryside, our fishing complex has developed a reputation for producing stunning, hard fighting carp, F1’s and other coarse species, all in superb condition.
Gadwall - specimen carp lake
Gadwall is our specimen carp lake and was originally stocked in 2014 with 60 fish all over 20lb. They have thrived and grown since them with multiple fish over 30lbs and the lake record being a mirror carp called Ben weighing 40lb 3oz.

One of Hayton’s runs water which has great potential and may just hold a few surprises. The carp are packing on weight and for those anglers wanting to explore, Wigeon is a great opportunity.

Ideal for those wanting to catch a few carp in a session with a good chance of a mid-double. Shoveler is perfect for honing your watercraft and anglings skills or trying new methods, rigs and techniques.

An often overlooked lake which has seen the carp grow very quickly to become big fish. Goldeneye has an intimate feel, perfect for anglers who enjoy the challenge of fishing for large carp close in to the margins. The fish are in stunning condition, carry lovely markings and well worth angling for.

Our biggest lake on the Hayton fishery complex and a popular venue for both pleasure and specimen anglers. Kingfisher is a great venue for experienced anglers or beginners, come and have a go!
